iBeani Tablet and iPad Stand Review
The rather bizarre iBeani, which acts as a stand for your iPad or other tablet, could be the perfect gift this mother’s day. It allows you to lie back and enjoy your favourite films and TV programs hands-free, and comes in an incredibly wide range of colours and designs to ensure you find one you like.
It’s also a great product for people who suffer from certain health problems, as you are not required to hold your tablet while you use it, which can be a painful inconvenience for some.
- Incredibly light
- Functions very well
- Great selection of designs
The iBeani is essentially a tiny bean bag, about half the size of your pillow. It has the perfect amount of beans inside – not too many that the iBeani is too rigid to squish into the desired shape, but not too flimsy that it can’t hold your tablet properly – and it is incredibly light too. Available in an enormous range of designs, all made of the same good-quality materials, you will definitely be able to find one you like.
Attached to the bean bag is a little handle to make it easy to chuck around, and also a small pocket on one side of the bean bag, perfect for keeping your phone, glasses or whatever else you might want, to hand.
The flexible nature of the iBeani means it isn’t limited to tablets, and can be used to hold other items such as books and smartphones, or as a travel pillow, which is helpful.
The iBeani Tablet and iPad Stand is ridiculously easy to use. Just put the bean bag where you want, shape it a bit into the required position and then just place your iPad or tablet in place. One of the best things about the iBeani is its ability to cater for any viewing angle; you just move it around until you’re happy with its position.
While you could use a tripod to hold your device it is much more of a hassle to do so, and you can’t place it on your lap either like with the iBeani.
Whether you place it on your lap or even on your stomach while you’re lying down, it’s very comfortable and adaptable.
Many fans of the iBeani are people who suffer from an illness or disability. People with arthritis may find it useful to put their iPad or tablet on the stand, while some cancer patients often find they need to spend more time lying down or resting, so being able to use their tablet on an iBeani is very beneficial. If you have a condition that makes it difficult for you to hold a tablet then you should definitely consider getting an iBeani.
The price is the only real thumbs down for the iBeani Tablet and iPad Stand. One of these will set you back £24.99 (at the time of writing). Yes it’s a well-made and useful product, but not one which I would be flippant about spending that much money for.
Should you buy the iBeani Tablet and iPad Stand?
The iBeani is a really ingenious and useful product to own, especially if you are someone who faces difficulties holding an iPad or other tablet. We all know tablets can be awkward to hold and are rather heavy, so the iBeani helps navigate this issue. While a lower price would be required for me to seriously consider buying one, I would still recommend it to others as it is a strong performer.
