Asus VX5 Lamborghini Laptop Review

The Asus Lamborghini VX range, like its Italian partner Lamborghini, needs no introduction. However, its specification certainly does ensure an introduction. With a 1TB hard drive which is 1000GB it certainly does contain an almost unfillable storage space and with a quad core processor there is little that this laptop cannot handle.
This model is the latest model with a 16-inch screen with a Dual-Format DVD/Blu-Ray player all of the latest movies will look quite spectacular on this great screen. With such great features and spacious screen this laptop is certainly a contender at being a desktop replacement multimedia laptop yet at the same time retaining some form of portability – if a 3.5kg laptop isn’t heavy for you.
The dedicated graphics card with 1GB of dedicated graphics RAM is certainly powerful enough to handle multimedia tasks with ease and playback your favourite blu-ray movies. However, the latest games may only run on this machine with the settings toned down especially on demanding games such as Crysis.
The design is full of brushed aluminium and leather which certainly does help to give this laptop a premium feel. However, the glossy plastics used in certain areas of the laptop could be slightly more robust considering the price the buyer is forking out.
Unlike a number of laptops the Lamborghini VX5 features an isolated key design which creates space around the keys offering a responsive, positive and easy to use typing experience. The touchpad is large and well functional.
Now we can sink our teeth into some more interesting facts such as the quad-core Intel Core 2 processor with 4GB of Ram which offers a great and fantastic multi-tasking experience. However, the slight downside is that the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000 is not built nor is it the best processor for gaming. Nonetheless, the Q9000 is the least expensive mobile quadcore which is probably why Asus have used it in order to keep the price as low as possible – at £1774.25. However, and more importantly, it is a processor for professionals who require a high amount of processing power and the quad-core design of the Q9000 allows for unparallel multi-threading performance ensuring that multi-tasking is certainly a breeze.
As with the incorporation of premium specifications such as a blu-ray player there is also a high-speed eSATA port, four USB ports 802.11n Wi-FI, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, a HDMI and VGA output devices.
The Asus VX5 Lamborghini is certainly a step up from its predecessor this laptop sports a great specification at a slightly pricey but arguably necessary price and if you want a notebook that will turn heads due to design and specification then this is certainly the one.
