Alienware Area-51 M15X Laptop Review

This laptop is more of a desktop replacement and an upgrade for most. It uses both an integrated graphics adapter and a high performance video card. This is to ensure a longer battery life and to ensure that there is optimum gaming quality.
Its insides are packed with a NVIDIA SLI technology with dual NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX graphics cards. It also features Intel's 45nm Core 2 Extreme X9000 mobile processors, which can support just about everything from crisp 3D rendering to high quality audio. It also has a 1TB hard drive – now that is just amazing. That’s not the end either it is packed with even more.
The design is, like expected, amazing. Like most glossy finish laptops this isn’t a finger print magnet and to top it all off this amazing gaming laptop weighs in at well seven pounds, that’s nothing.
It measures in at 14.55” x 10.73” x 1.30”. For a powerful gaming computer like this it isn’t bad at all. Its keyboard is the most unique of all its features. It has a wild lighting scheme which is called AlienFX and lets you pick the colour from seven different colours.
The right hand side is one blessed with the ordinary ports, it has a 7-in-1 card reader and an Express Card port. There is also a HDMI port along with a single USB port and a Firewire B port.
The left hand side is what Alienware call the smart bay. This bay can be used to add a number of external devices, a second battery, an additional hard drive and even an optical drive. There are also two audio ports, two more USB ports and a Gigabit LAN port and the good old power connector.
Along with all that it has a 15.4” screen, not the biggest, but it does the trick. With everything else this laptop offers I don’t think you can really complain.
