Toshiba has launched a new 12.1 inches
Notebook PC which promises that it as a great fix for advance users and business persons. The notebook comes with the latest Microsoft operating system called
Windows Vista and also incorporates a bundle of application software.
The new PC, called the Toshiba Satellite U205-S5057 notebook has a bright 12.1 inch TFT display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and an inbuilt TruBrite technology that helps in enhancing the imagery resolution.
It is powered by dual-execution core T5500 Core 2 Duo processor, which has 1.66 GHz processing speed with 2 MB L2 cache
memory and 667 MHz system bus. It has 160 GB hard drives and 1 GB
RAM that can be upgraded to 4GB. The other major configuration include a 802.11a/b/g wireless connectivity, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with maximum 196 MB of shared video RAM and a 5-in-1 memory card reader.
The notebook weighs just over 4 pounds. It has a double-layer
DVD drive that plays DVD+RW and DVD-RW discs,
CD-RW discs, and dual-layer (DL) DVD+/-R discs.
The software packages that come with the notebook PC are Microsoft Works 8.5, InterVideo WinDVD 8 SD, Microsoft
Office OneNote 2007, and Creator 2 Platinum,
Google Desktop and Toolbar, Trial version of McAfee Internet Security Suite, Microsoft Office 2007 Home, Disc Creator, Recovery Disc Creator, and Speech System.
It uses 6-cell rechargeable lithium-ion battery (4700 mAh) with up to 4.5 hours battery life. It is expected that the
laptop will be in the market in February and will cost $1,299.
