Apple has released a new cheaper and faster MacBook. It has a 2.16GHz Intel
Core 2 Duo processor with 1GB
memory and a bigger capacity
hard drive that is all inside a great looking chassis.
The three new models of this
Apple MacBook on the market are: White chassis 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo processor machine with 80GB hard drive; White chassis 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo processor machine with 120GB hard drive and finally 2.16GHz processor machine with 160GB hard drive and black chassis.
The new MacBook has a 13.3-inch widescreen display. The chassis measures - 325mm wide by 227mm deep by 28mm thick and weighs 2.31 kg. The MacBook is a good looking machine but it is quite heavier than other similar available
notebooks on the market, e.g. the 1.8 kg
Dell XPS M1330.
The MacBook is available both in black and white colours. The black model is preferable over white model. The black edition commands a hefty £120 premium over its white counterpart, although you do get an extra 40GB of
hard disk space to play with.
The new MacBook benefits from new technology and updated components. The price tag has been dropped to give you better value for the
money as the processor speed has been boosted from a maximum 2GHz to 2.16GHz and the increase in RAM from 512MB to 1GB. The MacBook has become a better performance machine with a much better all round performance.
Above all, it has better storage capacity. Standard 80 GB hard drive has been replaced by 120 GB and 160 GB for a black MacBook.
Other things that you get with new the MacBook are the integrated
VGA web cam, Intel GMA 950
graphics card and a double-layer SuperDrive DVD rewriter.
However despite of all these improvements, the new model lacks the new
Centrino Duo technology used by the other latest MacBook Pros. Neither does it have an LED backlit display, which is theoretically brighter and uses less energy.
