Toshiba has unveiled its latest
notebook – the
Satellite A205 notebook. Most notable of the new features is the option of
High Definition DVD playback functionality. The
HD DVD optical drive enables users to watch movies on the laptop’s 15.4 inch screen with an image resolution up to six times sharper than other laptops.
Whereas other laptops typically offer a maximum playback resolution of 480p, the
Satellite A205 notebook offers up to 720p. The high definition capability adds to Toshiba’s patented
TruBrite technology offering an already enhanced picture quality.
Furthermore, for the next five months,
Toshiba are offering customers five free HD DVD titles when they purchase a Toshiba Satellite A205 notebook with high definition capabilities.
The notebook series has a starting price of £490, though systems with HD DVD capability begin at £640. Other features include a
hard drive of up to 200 GB, a built-in
webcam, speaker system and microphone,
Windows Vista and an
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor of up to 1.50 GHz.
