The former president of software and content for the One Laptop Per Child foundation, Walter Bender, has revealed the reasons for leaving his post last week. Bender disagreed with Nicholas Negropontes vision for the future of the scheme, and having been reassigned roles by the founder of the organization, Bender decided it was time to resign.
Negroponte believes that the foundation needs to run more like Microsoft , and recently altered Benders role. Bender had previously been in charge of developing the XOs innovative graphical interface, though has since been moved to oversee the deployment of the organizations XO laptops to children in developing countries.
