Dell have launched a new laptop targeting customers in emerging countries such as China and India . The Dell 500 is an easy to use laptop retailing from Rs 24,500 (just over £300) and is part of Dells strategy to concentrate on global sales growth. The project has cost Dell $30 million, though with one million units expected to be shipped, Dell expect the scheme to be a profitable one.
The laptop comes with either Microsoft Windows XP or Ubuntu-Linux full application suite, and is accompanied by a next business day warranty in over 600 cities. It also features an eight in one card reader and direct multi media playback buttons.
