Elonex have announced they are to release The One notebook aimed at the education sector. The laptop will retail at £99 a similar cost to the XO Laptop sold by the One Laptop Per Child foundation. Although Elonex have not disclosed how much RAM or what processor the laptop will have, The One notebook does contain a series of impressive features.
The laptop will have WiFi capability, 1GB of inbuilt memory, a 7-inch screen, inbuilt speakers, 2 USB sockets and word processing and spreadsheet applications. The laptop will run on a Linux operating system, whilst the keyboard is detachable meaning it can be used as a non-touch-screen tablet device . The laptop will be officially launched at the Education Show 2008 at Birminghams NEC Centre.
