IT education experts RM have released the results of a survey showing the way that technology is changing childrens attitudes to work and education. The IT education reseller recently conducted the School Gate Survey questioning 11-16 year olds about the way new technology is changing the way they learn.
The replies revealed that 97 per cent of pupils across the country now use a computer at some point in their school week. 78 per cent of students declared a preference for using computers whilst doing their homework, as opposed to pen and paper, with 62 per cent saying the electronic method aided their learning. Regional differences transpired in the survey, with students in the south most likely to have regular access to a laptop or computer at school.
Just 1 per cent of students dont have access to a laptop or computer at home, whilst half of the pupils surveyed own their own laptop.
