Best Buy is being sued for $54 million over an alleged lost laptop . A woman who sent her laptop in to be repaired claims the company lost it and tried to lie about its disappearance. Raelyn Campbell, a 37 year old Washington D.C. resident, also claims that she wasnt notified of the possibility of identity theft .
Despite the fact the company have already given Mrs Campbell $1,110.35 for the cost of the laptop and warranty, as well as a $500 gift card for her trouble, Mrs Campbell has proceeded to make the self-admitted ridiculous claim in an attempt to get the company to change their practices and ensure customer privacy protection in future.
A judge has suggested that the two parties come to a settlement, though as yet one has not been reached.
