Intel is to launch a laptop scheme in Vietnam allowing teachers to buy laptops on a hire-purchase basis. Intel Vietnam are to set up a partnership with the Da Nang University of Technology allowing their teachers to take advantage of the scheme, which is designed to help them improve their information technology skills.
At present, there is a vast gulf between graduates and experienced staff in terms of their knowledge of information technology . As well as aiming to reduce this gap using the hire-purchase scheme, Intel has also unveiled an information technology laboratory at the university. The laboratory includes a server, a wireless network system and twenty PCs .
It is the latest of Intels schemes that involve universities, with 150 universities across 35 different countries already benefitting from an estimated £500 million of Intel contributions.
