There has been a significant increase in the number of owners reporting slow performance on their computers and laptops following the festive period, according to TechGuys. The digital technology helpline, offering advice on a range of electronic devices ranging from computers to televisions, have said that over 70 per cent of callers this month have registered complaints of slow computer performance a problem that TechGuys are blaming on excessive downloads over Christmas.
Users risk slower performance by downloading images, movies, songs and new software, for example. Users are being advised to either cut back on downloads, especially on computers with smaller hard drives, or to regularly defragment their hard drives.
