Telstra have announced that they are to extend their free laptop offer following its initial success. The telecommunications company have offered a free laptop worth up to £350 to customers who sign up for a three year Next G mobile data contract since the beginning of June. The offer had been scheduled to expire at the end of June, though customers must have an Australian Business Number to qualify for the offer.
Following significant interest in the offer, Telstra have decided to extend the promotion until the end of September. The plan costs £50 a month which includes a 1GB data download allowance. However, there are heavy excess charges for those who exceed the download limit, with Telstra charging roughly £125 per extra gigabyte.
Meanwhile, Telstra have also announced they that have signed up a further four retailers to their promotion, including Leading Edge Group and Multimedia, adding to the numerous retailers already on board, such as Harvey Norman, ICT Distribution and Techhead Interactive. Despite the popularity of the offer, rival 3G data competitors Vodafone and 3 have so far ruled out putting on a rival offer.
