Asus launch mini notebook

The latest mini-notebook from Asus has been unveiled at a trade show in Taiwan .

According to Mobile Magazine the firm showed of the forthcoming Eee PC 1000, along with its current products.

Writing for the news provider Michael Kwan, who was present at the launch event, states the new model is larger than its predecessors.

He said: "One of the keys to the potential success for the Asus Eee PC 1000 is the fact that the keyboard is now 92 per cent the size of a full keyboard.

"A lot of people had trouble typing on the tiny keyboard on the 701, so the 1000 address that issue beautifully."

The new model also features a larger screen, 10-inches compared to the 8.9-inch screen on the Eee PC 900, he added.

Yesterday, PC World reported that Sony could be set to launch its own mini-laptop .

Contract manufacturer Quanta has been displaying such a device bearing the Sony logo, although the firm has not officially confirmed the release.
