Carphone Warehouse Offering Free Laptops
Thu, 05 Jun 2008
The Carphone Warehouse is offering a free laptop with its latest broadband package. The communications retailer is offering customers a choice of six laptops when they buy a broadband package from one of sever providers, such as the Carphone Warehouse’s own TalkTalk subsidiary, as well as T-Mobile, Orange and 3.

The deal is on offer at 100 stores nationwide initially, and will be extended to over 800 stores this summer. Whereas last year’s promotion with AOL Broadband only offered one laptop, customers will now be able to pay to upgrade their laptop.

Although the Carphone Warehouse sold a 50 per cent stake in its retail unit to US electrical giant Best Buy for £1.1 billion last month, the retailer has retained 100 per cent of its UK fixed line telecoms business, made up of AOL Broadband, TalkTalk and Opal. The partnership with Best Buy has offered the Carphone Warehouse a route into Europe, as they are able to extend their laptop offer to Best Buy’s 2,400 stores across Europe.
