Hewlett Packard has unveiled its latest generation of laptops boasting 'all-day computing'. Hewlett Packard claim the laptops can be configured with an ultra capacity battery, which it says allow customers to take more than 10 Eurostar trips before needing to recharge their laptops. Hewlett Packard is describing the HP EliteBook 6930p as an 'unprecedented milestone in mobile computing '.
It should be noted that the standard EliteBook, which is due to be released in October, will not provide a 24 hour battery life, but instead customers will need to buy the ultra capacity battery and upgrade the laptop to include an Illumi-Lite display and an 80 gigabyte Intel solid state hard drive .
The extra long battery life has been achieved through a combination of HP engineering and the use of energy efficient components. The Illumi-Lite LED display enhances battery life by up to four hours, whilst the Intel hard drive boosts battery life by roughly 7 per cent.
Ted Clark, from Hewlett Packard's global notebook business unit, said, 'All day computing has been the holy grail of notebook computing. With the HP EliteBook 6930p, customers no longer have to worry about their notebook battery running out before their work day is over'.
