UK
PC market figures show that
Toshiba enjoyed the best end to 2007 relative to their rivals. The
Japanese outfit saw their market
share increase from 6 to 9 per cent, ending the year as the fifth largest PC vendor.
HP enjoyed the second biggest growth in the fourth quarter of 2007, increasing its market share by 2 points to 22 per cent, though their closest rivals
Dell struggled to add to the growth enjoyed in previous quarters as their market share remained at 18 per cent.
The UK PC market was up 7.6 per cent on the fourth quarter of 2006, largely fuelled by
notebook sales. Suggestions that
notebooks are edging out
desktops were given credence as
desktop sales fell 13 per cent whilst notebook sales were up by nearly a third.
