Apple has confirmed it is to hold a special event on Tuesday October 14th, with the media speculating that the event will see the unveiling of Apples new
laptop line updates. Speculation has been rife for some time that
Apple would release their new ranges on the specified date, though Apples failure to send out media invitations until now had caused doubt about whether such an event would be held.
An Apple spokesman declined to provide any further information, though new versions of the
MacBook and
MacBook Pro are expected to be unveiled, with many analysts forecasting a price cut. The
laptops currently start at $1,099, and whilst a price drop to below $1,000 may be a fairly safe bet, some analysts expect the laptops to begin from as little as $800, as Apple look to take advantage of the trend for more
affordable laptops .
Apple has suffered a slowdown in stock in recent times, with stock falling by roughly a quarter since late September. The decline has been triggered by fears that Apples
sales would be harmed by the economic downturn in Europe and America which provide the majority of Apples sales.
