Acer took the unusual step of releasing more than twenty new products on Tuesday night at an event in New Jersey. Amongst the new releases is the new
Acer Aspire Timeline
notebook series, two
netbooks and several updates to its media centre series.
The new Acer Aspire Timeline
computer series is being marketed as offering
laptops with longer
battery life, without using heavier
batteries . The
notebooks, which have aluminium tops and are only an inch thick, run on an
Intel Ultra Low Voltage processor, and feature an LED widescreen and a solid state drive as standard. Despite the improvements, the laptops remain under $1,000, offering either a 13.1 inch screen, or a 15.6 inch screen. Acer also claims that the laptops use new air flow technology, directing cool air to the bottom side of the laptops to help the cooling process.
Improvements have also been made to the companys
netbook PC line. There is a new version of the Aspire One, which has been made thinner. However, the 11.6 inch version of the netbook is arguably the more interesting, featuring a full size keyboard for the first time on a netbook.
