Apple has reintroduced matte displays to its line of 15-inch
MacBook Pro laptops .
The matte "antiglare" screen was only previously available on the 17-inch
MacBook Pro, but the electronics giant is now offering 15-inch MacBook Pro customers the chance to opt for the non-glossy display.
The new matte-finished widescreen includes a silver bezel, such as those found on previous-generation aluminium
MacBook Pros, while the
glossy displays retain their shiny black border.
However, upgrading from gloss to matte comes at a price, with
Apple charging UK customers £40 for the new feature.
Apple has also confirmed that the option is not available for the newest MacBook Pro a 13-inch model - or the company's
MacBook Air laptop .
Although Apple has been promoting glossy screens, hyping their deeper blacks and better colour saturation, some users remain unimpressed, citing the reflections that appear under some conditions.
