PC manufacturer
Dell has announced the UK release of the
Inspiron 17 laptop, which it claims blurs the lines between desktop and
laptop functionality.
The entry-level Inspiron
notebook comes with a 17.3-inch WLED display with a superb 1600x900 pixel resolution, and a full-size keyboard with number pad.
Underneath the hood, buyers have the choice of
Intel Celeron,
Dual Core and
Core 2 Duo processor options, up to 500GB
hard drive,
Intel and
ATI graphics options, up to 8GB
RAM and a six or 9-cell battery pack.
Other neat features include a
DVD writer, a 1.3-megapixel
webcam, a 7-in-1
media card reader,
WiFi,
Bluetooth and
Windows Vista Home Premium .
Extras including a
Blu-ray disc drive, facial recognition tech, and a
HD display upgrade (from October) are available at an additional cost.
The Insprion 17 also comes with a choice of seven case colours and a one year
warranty, although for an extra £103 customers can purchase an additional 2 year system and service cover (with in home repair and replacements as well as extended support hours).
Prices for the latest addition to the
Inspiron laptop line range from £369 to £599 including VAT and delivery.
