Sony have unveiled their Mini Me
notebook which is set to become the latest addition to the expanding
netbook market. The ultra portable device is only slightly larger than a standard office envelope, weighing just 638g and boasting an eight inch screen. The notebook is the latest member of Sonys
Vaio P-series, and comes with built in high speed
broadband meaning users of the
laptop can access the
internet on the move with no need for a
USB modem dongle .
The
PC operates on Windows
Vista, rather than the
Windows XP system used by its competitors. Another useful feature is the machines fast access buttons, allowing the user to gain access to their most used functions. Offering up to 2 gigabytes of
memory, and 128 gigabytes of storage space on a solid state drive, the machine rivals many
desktop and laptop
PCs in its specifications. With an integrated
webcam and microphone, as well as GPS, the machine can also be used as a sat nav.
Given all of these features, it is perhaps unsurprising that it will retail from £849 when it goes on sale next month three times the price of its competitors. It will also be available in four different colours.
