Better known for their low cost
netbooks,
Asus have unveiled what is being dubbed as the most powerful
laptop in the world. The powerful Asus W90 will be driven by a 2.8GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T9600, possess 6GB of RAM and boast two 320GB
hard disk drives . The
PC will also deliver excellent visual performance, with its 18.4 inch screen featuring a
full HD 1,920x1,080 LED display.
The high resolution picture will be required to take advantage of the
BluRay drive which Asus promise will be featured in the production models, replacing the
DVD writer embedded in the pre-production model. Picture quality will certainly be a strong point of the laptop, which boasts an average of 35 frames a second, which drops to a respectable 26 frames per second upon being switched to its highest definition. As a result, this laptop will be excellent for gaming as well.
The laptop is neither cheap nor light, however. The
notebook weighs a hefty 6.1kg, whilst the power brick adds a further 1.34kg to its bulk. Its price is equally damaging, setting you back nearly £2,000 perhaps unsurprisingly given the array of features inbuilt.
