3 Add New Laptop to Broadband Bundle

May 13, 2009

Mobile phone operator 3 has added the Hewlett Packard Compaq CQ60 notebook to the company’s mobile broadband and laptop packages. The laptop PC will replace the HP550 laptop previously offered when customers took out a broadband deal, with 3 claiming the new computer ‘offers more in the way of features’ than its predecessor. Amongst the features offered by the 3D Sound Blaster Pro-compatible laptop are an AMD SI-42, with 2.1GHz processing power, a 5 in 1 card reader, a full size keypad and integrated webcam, as well as Windows Vista Home Basic, MS Works and a 60 day Microsoft Office trial.

3 are advertising the laptop as free when they sign up to an 18 or 24 month contract costing £35 and £30 a month respectively. The laptop typically retails at around £315, whilst customers will receive a 15GB monthly download allowance on the 24 month contract or a 5GB allowance on the shorter deal. Customers can top up their download allowance for just 10p per download. Both internet packages offer broadband speeds of up to 3.6Mb and a free 3 dongle.

The laptop joins the Compaq HP Mini 700, Toshiba L350-20G and the Fujitsu Siemens Li3710 as the notebooks available with 3’s broadband packages.
