Dell Target Students with New Laptop

Dell has launched their new Studio 14z laptop, mainly targeting students . The laptop it is set to be upscale but affordable, incorporating elements of Dell’s high end XPS laptops . The Studio 14z notebook is thin, ranging from 0.76 inches thick to 1.2 inches, and weighs as little as 4.5 pounds. Dell claims it offers the perfect combination of work and entertainment, with the notebooks LED display and Nvidia GeForce 9400 GPU graphics card enabling 1080p HD video playback on the PC .

The absence of an optical drive ensures the laptop can remain thin, whilst Dell claims it is the perfect laptop to carry around. A Dell press release said the laptop was good for consumers who ‘want a slim, easy-to-carry laptop and like the choice of a larger hard drive over an optical drive’.

The computer also features Failsafe Theft Protection, allowing laptop owners to track their PC when it goes online after being stolen. Facial recognition login software is also included. Prices are set to start at $649, with the available colours including Black Chain Link, Midnight Blue, Spring Green, Plum Purple, Ruby Red and Promise Pink.
