Asus has unveiled its latest addition to its
Eee PC netbook range, though this
netbook has a difference. The
Eee PC 1201N includes a
dual-core Atom processor that would usually be used to power a
desktop computer . The netbook also features the
Nvidia Ion
graphics card, meaning the
mini laptop can support a 1366 x 768 display on its 12.1 inch screen. The inclusion of an HDMI port adds to the playback possibilities on the mini
laptop .
It is undoubtedly one of the best equipped
netbooks on the market, and will use the new
Microsoft Windows 7 operating system . In addition, the
mini notebook has 3GB of memory, a 250GB
hard drive, and can access the
internet through
Wifi .
Experts have analysed the impact of having so many features on such a small machine. One of the major fears about this powerhouse netbook is the impact the processor will have on battery life. Indeed, the processor consumers 8W of power, compared to the 2.5W used by most netbook processors. As a result, the
PCs battery life lasts up to five hours, compared to nine hours for other Eee PCs.
