Vodafone has added a new
netbook to its range of
mobile broadband deals . The
Compaq Presario CQ60-404SA is the latest ‘mini’
laptop offered ‘free’ when customers take out one of Vodafone’s
mobile broadband contracts. With a 15.6 inch display, the laptop cannot truly be said to have the portability of a typical netbook. Indeed, it weighs 2.96kg. As a result, the laptop has a wide range of capabilities.
The notebook has a
DVD drive, 2GB of RAM, an HD display and a 250GB
hard drive, as well as a fully sized keyboard with integrated number pad. It doesn’t not have mobile broadband built-in, but comes with a
Vodafone mobile broadband dongle giving users access to the
internet from any
PC they wish to use. The laptop comes with
Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed, which will not help boost
Microsoft sales figures for its new
operating system Windows 7 .
The laptop is ‘free’ for existing customers who take out a £35 per month 24-month contract. New customers will be forced to shell out £40 per month for the same deal, while all customers will receive a 3GB data allowance limit.
