Vodafone has launched its new
Mobile Broadband Hotspot, allowing
laptop users to share their mobile
broadband connection with up to five
Wi-Fi enabled devices. The device will allow users to connect
games consoles,
digital cameras and
MP3 players to the
internet, provided they are within a 10 metre radius of a connected laptop
PC .
The portable gismo is the size of a
credit card, containing an internal battery that provides up to 4 hours of usage. With optimum coverage, downloading speeds of up to 7.2Mbps are available, with speeds of 5.7Mbps on the uplink.
Memory can be increased to 16GB via microSD.
Vodafone Mobile Broadband Hotspot will initially only be available in Germany, Romania and Spain.
The launch follows Vodafones announcement that the
Dell Inspiron Mini 10
netbook will now be available on their range of
mobile broadband deals . The mini
notebook has a 10.1 inch widescreen and an
Intel Atom processor . Measuring just 10.3 by 7.2 by 1.3 inches, its one of the smallest
netbooks on the market, and weighs just 1.33kg making it an ultra-portable
computer . The PC is available on Vodafones £25 per month contract, giving 1GB of data usage each month for 24 months.
