Fujitsu Unveils Gesture Control Laptops
Fri, 11 Jun 2010
Japanese computer manufacturer Fujitsu has revealed its Lifebook AH laptop series. The laptops boast the gesture control feature which enables users to enact a set of movements which trigger a small number of simple controls. The laptops have an embedded camera which can detect hand movements, giving users the power to control such functions as playback in Windows media centre using only hand movements.

The AH series notebooks have a 15.6 inch screen with 1366x768 resolution, though the notebook maker is yet to announce how much the PCs will cost or when they will be available in the UK. PC analysts have voiced cynicism at the need for the gesture control featuring, suggesting the laptops represent an expression of engineering capability from Fujitsu. Gesture control is, however, being developed by manufacturers for smartphones, suggesting that such cynicism of the need for this technology may underestimate the demand for it.

The PCs will be available with either an Intel Core i5-450M processor, a Core i3-350M processor, or an AMD Athlon II M340 chip. It is expected that the PCs will have 4GB of RAM.
