Broadband Providers Change Laptop Bundles

O2 is aiming to entice more customers onto its broadband deals by offering a home phone and broadband bundle . The mobile phone operator turned broadband provider is offering new customers three months of free broadband, while O2 Mobile customers are also entitled to special rates. The Standard 8mb broadband is available for £17 a month to O2 Mobile customers, including free unlimited evening and weekend calls and three months free broadband. Meanwhile, existing O2 broadband customers can add line rental and unlimited evening and weekend calls to their package for £9.50 a month.

Laptop broadband bundles have become increasingly popular in recent years, with companies offering free notebooks and netbooks as an incentive to take out a mobile broadband policy. However, with increased competition both in terms of other broadband providers and new attractions such as the iPad, broadband providers are having to conjure new offers to entice customers.

Orange has also altered its mobile broadband contracts, giving consumers a choice of three packages: Dolphin, Panther and Racoon. The packages cost £15, £25 and £5 respectively, entitling customers to differing allowances, while the Asus Eee PC 1005HGO netbook and the HP Compaq CQ61 laptop are also available with the deals.
