MSI has launched a
new netbook with long lasting battery life. The new Wind U160 mini
laptop has a battery that offers up to 15 hours of usage on a single charge. The long battery life is made possible by a six cell battery and a low power
Intel CPU platform, featuring the Intel Atom N450
processor, 1GB DDR2 memory and a 160GB HDD. The mini
notebook also has a 10 inch backlit LED display with 1024x600 resolution, and comes with
Microsoft Windows 7 Starter edition.
The portable
computer has a couple of innovative features, including an illuminated logo on the outside of its shell, and a new cylindrical hinge, on which the power button is found. The new
netbook is the latest offering by
MSI, who has invested heavily in producing a wide selection of the mini
laptops . Despite their keen involvement in the netbook
PC market, MSI remain less well known than
Acer,
Asus,
Dell, and other netbook manufacturers.
At $430, it remains to be seen whether the price tag is sufficiently competitive to dissuade PC users from buying
netbooks from better known brands.
