Alienware, the Dell-owned gaming
PC maker, has unveiled its latest batch of high performance
gaming laptops .
Adding to the company’s portfolio are the
Sandy Bridge -powered M14x and M18x
laptops, as well as a revamped version of its successful M11x gaming
netbook .
The M14x comes with a choice of Intel's second-generation Core i5 or i7 processors, supports up to 8GB of RAM and packs an
Nvidia GeForce GT 555M
graphics card . The machine has a 14-inch screen, weighs in at less than 3kg and provides gamers with 6 hours of battery life.
The larger M18x is the top of the range M series machine. It boasts an 18.4-inch screen, a mega 4GHz
Intel Core i7 CPU and gives users the option to add up to 32GB of RAM. The only downside is the laptop’s chunky 7kg frame.
Alienware has also refreshed its
ultra-portable M11x
laptop, giving it more power (you get the choice of either Intel's Core i5 or i7 Sandy Bridge processors), updated Nvidia GT540M graphics, extra memory and a longer-lasting battery (around 8 hours).
All three M-series machines also offer
HDMI 1.4 connection for 3D gaming as well as
USB 3.0 ports.
The M11x R3 and M14x are available to buy in the UK now, with prices starting from £600 and £730 respectively, while the M18x is set to go on sale next month and will cost around £1,200.
