The handset created by
Sony Ericsson has recently been slashed by
online electronics retailers .
The
gaming mobile phone has been slashed by almost half by online retailer Expansys. The price was cut from £499 to £289 whilst other online retailers such as
Play and
Amazon are selling the device for an extra £10 at, £299.
However, mobile retailers such as
Carphone Warehouse and certain other
mobile operators are still selling the device for £500. This is nearly just as much as buying an
iPhone 4 straight from Apple.
Even though this phone has been classed as a gaming device it has been criticised by many simply because it did not offer true
Sony Playstation integration.
The device comes with 1GHz
processor and an
Adreno GPU graphics processor . These two double-up to offer 60 frames per second for gaming and browsing with very little battery consumption.
Along with the internal hardware the slide-out device includes a digital
D-pad, two analogue touch-pads, two shoulder buttons and the classic four Playstation buttons – circle, cross, square and triangle.
The
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play sports the
Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and comes with Playstation certification.
