Samsung has extended its notebook range with the launch of a powerful new machine designed specifically for
gaming .
The
Samsung Series 7 GAMER is powered by the quad-core
Intel Core i7 processor, combined with a specialist gaming AMD Radeon
HD graphics card, to deliver impressive gaming speeds.
Users get a 3D 17.3-inch display with full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, which Samsung says offers 60 times more colours than a typical
laptop screen, surround sound technology and even a backlit
keyboard designed specifically for
computer games .
The notebook also has four operating modes. The primary mode is Gaming with maximised CPU performance and cooling operating at 100 per cent, but users can switch to Balanced for everyday use and extended battery life.
Battery power is enhanced further via the Green mode, while Library mode can be activated for use in quiet surroundings.
Samsung says the
laptop is designed to provide a "smarter and richer gaming experience" and marks a big step forward for the world of
notebooks .
"With the Series 7 GAMER we have delivered a notebook that can compete with a
desktop PC, and that sets the benchmark for gaming notebooks," Damian Cusick, general manager of
computing at Samsung UK and Ireland, said.
"The Series 7 is packed with features that specifically meet the demands of serious gamers, and with its four optimisation modes, can deliver optimum performance for a wide variety of different activities, at the turn of a dial."
