Retina Display is at the moment an
iPhone 4 exclusive.
However, this will not be the case for much longer. Kwon Young-soo, LG's display chief executive, suggests that
LG could very soon adopt the
iPhone 4's super crisp Retina Display.
Young-soo commented, in an interview with reporters in Korea, that
Samsung is misleading the market when it comes to
mobile displays. This is entirely because
OLED displays are not suitable in terms of picture quality, response time, energy consumption and contrast ratios for
smartphones and
tablets.
Even though the OLED screen of the
Samsung GalaxyS2 is doing so well it seems that Samsung could very well be adopting a new screen technology. It seems that the LG manufacturers that produce the
Retina Display for
Apple will soon start sharing this technology with other smartphone producers – particularly Samsung.
In further news Young-soo even mentioned that LG are in talks with Apple in integrating a Retina Display screen into the next modification of the
iPad, the iPad 3.
