Microsoft has recorded annual revenue of £43.4 billion.
Microsoft owe these record profits to the
Xbox 360 videogame console alongside its
Office software .
These figures beat numerous expectations and showed the quarterly revenue profits reaching a record high of £3.6 billion.
Thanks to the sales of
Microsoft Office software and
Xbox games console sales rose by 8% to £10.6 million.
It seems that every department of Microsoft has seen an increase. The company's online service unit, which helps to run the
Bing search engine, released figures showing an increase in sales by 16.5% to £406 million. However, they did see losses increase to £46.5 million as Bing are still finding it incredibly difficult to find ground against the likes of
Google .
