Samsung has dropped a legal case against
iPad and iPhone manufacturer
Apple .
The
hardware maker had been demanding access to Apple's prototype devices and wanted early access to information what was being put into the company's
gadgets .
However, it has claimed that the case has now been dropped in an effort to "streamline the legal proceedings" between the two rivals.
Spokesman Nam Ki Yung told Bloomberg that while the firm has conceded ground in the case, it "will continue to actively defend and protect our
intellectual property ."
Judge Lucy Koh had earlier said that Samsung's claims that its new
tablet would likely be released at the same time as a
next generation iPad were "quite speculative".
"Common sense suggests allegations of copying are necessarily directed at Apple's existing products, to which Samsung has access and could potentially mimic, and not at Apple's unreleased, inaccessible, next-generation products," she said.
In other news, the Tourism Authority of Thailand recently released an iPad
game to encourage young people to visit the nation.
