Apple seem set to launch
the iPhone 5 this coming falling along with an update
iPad 2 and a new and improved operating system
iOS5.
There have been numerous rumours flying around about the
iPhone 5, particularly when it comes to design. Rumours suggesting that the new
iPhone could be as flexible and as small as a postcard to the rather absurd idea of
Apple reverting to the older curved
design of the
iPhone 3G and
iPhone 3GS.
Furthermore, there are some design concepts that if possible would really be revolutionary. However, the latest iPhone being paper thin or simply a nano version of the
iPhone 4 seem to be rather, well, impossible.
In terms of specifications the iPhone 5 could include a screen ranging from 3.7" to 4.2". However, there will certainly be a larger screen on the new iPhone. In terms of processor we could possibly see a 1.2GHz-1.4GHz processor and a dual-core GPU to handle 1080p HDMI resolution.
It seems that the new iPhone will work in harmony with
iOS5 and is said to include a dedicated camera shutter button that will work along side the updated
camera and photo stream app. This app will be just 1 of over 200 new features, this also includes the anticipated
iCloud.
According to certain sources the release of the new iPhone 5 along with the updated iOS5 could be accompanied by the release of an updated
iPad 2 that will have an updated screen. In essence this primarily means the screen will be more responsive and hopefully will be easier to use. It seems that iOS5 is pointing in the same direction with the new split-keyboard feature that makes using
the iPad 2 even easier.
An official release date has not yet be confirmed but with news of the
iPhone 4S in the pipeline the release date of the iPhone 5 could very well be pushed back as a far as the fall of 2012. However, the iPhone 4S could very well just be a distraction and we could very well see the iPhone 5 being shipped in the Autumn along side the release of the iOS5. As usual we will be seeing Apple-high prices .
