The new XPS 15z
notebook from
Dell is now available to UK buyers exclusively at Dell’s UK website (Dell.co.uk).
According to the
PC maker, the XPS 15z is one of the thinnest and lightest 15-inch
laptops on the market, measuring just 0.97 inches at its thickest point and weighing a mere 5.54 lbs.
Dell have also done a good job with the design. The casing is made from anodized aluminium and magnesium alloy, and the keyboard consists of small isolated keys with cool backlighting - similar to Apple’s
MacBook Pro range.
Prices for the new notebook start from £899 for the most basic model, which comes with a 15.6-inch
HD display with 1366x768 resolution, Intel’s
Sandy Bridge Core i5 2.3GHz processor, 4GB of RAM,
NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M graphics with 1GB of RAM and a 500GB
hard disk .
For an extra £300, you get a 1920x1080-pixel full HD display, Intel ‘s Core i7 processor running at 2.7GHz, a 750GB
hard drive, an extra 4GB of RAM and GeForce GT 525M graphics with 2GB of RAM. Other features include two
USB 3.0 ports, HD audio,
HDMI and a
DVD rewriter .
