Panasonic has announcement that it’s fully-rugged, flagship Toughbook CF-31
laptop has been upgraded to feature Intel’s latest generation of
Sandy Bridge processors .
The revamped Toughbook comes with the choice of either Intel’s Core i5 or i3 chipsets, increased RAM and
hard drive capacity,
AMD Radeon HD 6750 graphics and a 13.1-inch XGA
LCD display with CircuLumin technology, which enables the screen to be viewed in bright outdoor areas.
Other features include
WiFi,
Bluetooth and
3G connectivity,
GPS, a
webcam, 4
USB ports, a
HDMI port, a card reader, a fingerprint reader and a battery that can keep the laptop powered for 13.5 hours.
There’s also a military standard ‘Concealed mode,’ which allows the user to switch off the laptop’s fan, status LEDs, backlight, communication models and speakers instantly.
In terms of build quality, the CF-31 is designed to withstand harsh working conditions. It has a tough magnesium alloy casing and is also MIL-STD-810G and IP65 certified, meaning it is shock-proof, water-proof, drop-proof, vibration-proof, extreme temperature-proof, high altitude-proof and dust-proof.
Panasonic will begin retailing the revamped Toughbook next month, with prices set to start from €3,699 for the standard model.
