Sony has upgraded its
Vaio S laptop to include a glasses-free 3D display.
But instead of the implementing glasses-free 3D functionality, the electronics firm has released a full HD clip-on screen that turns the
Vaio S into a 3D device.
The technology is very similar to what that which is used in the
Toshiba Qosmio F750 3D - the world's first glasses-free
laptop.
As well as being full HD, the screen is lenticular and it works in unison with the laptop's web
camera (the
webcam tracks your eye movements) to provide an optimum 3D experience at all viewing angles.
Unfortunately,
Sony have not confirmed whether add-on 3D screen will be released in the UK, meaning the
Sony Vaio F Series remains the company's only 3D option for UK customers at present.
