Britons looking to get their hands on the recently unveiled
iPhone 4S will have to pay upwards of £500 for a
SIM free model,
Apple have confirmed.
The California-based company have released details on UK prices for the latest version of their iconic
smartphone, which will is due to be released on all the major networks on October 14 and is now available to pre-order from
Apple .
Prices for the
iPhone 4S will start at £499 for the 16GB model in black or white, £599 for 32GB or a whopping £699 for the new 64GB version.
T-Mobile,
O2,
Vodafone,
Three,
Orange and
Tesco Mobile have all confirmed that they will offer handset on various 18 and 24-month tariffs, with each giving their customers the chance to register their interest on their websites.
Orange,
T-Mobile and
Vodafone have all releasing similarly-priced deals and will offer customers the chance to get either a 16GB or 32GB handset (16GB only with Three) free of charge - there are no free deals on the 64GB model.
O2 and Tesco
Mobile are yet to release any details with regard to pricing.
While many were expecting Apple to unveil an entirely new model, the
iPhone 4S is still a considerable improvement on its older sibling.
It s powered by the much-lauded A5 dual-core processor, has up to 64GB storage - double that of the
iPhone 4, and comes with a new 8MP
camera with a hybrid IR filter and a larger aperture for more detailed, cleaner photos.
The camera is also better at shooting in low light conditions, and users will be able to crop and edit snaps on their mobile thanks to the inclusion of a new Apple Photo app.
