September 30, 2011

Hardcore PC gamers will be pleased to hear that MSI has unleashed a new, ultra-powerful Full HD gaming laptop .

Its latest machine – the GT780DXR – is powered by a 2GHz Intel Core i7 processor and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 570M graphics card with an impressive 1.5GB of dedicate high-speed GDDR5 graphics memory.

The chunky 3.9Kg device supports up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM and also includes a combination SSD and traditional hard drive storage system to offer both large capacity and high speeds.

Lift up the lid of the black brushed aluminium body and you find a Full HD non-reflective 17.3-inch display accompanied by a SteelSeries backlit keyboard and a 2.1-channel Dynaudio sound system with 7.1 outputs for connection to a surround sound system.

There’s also a DVD writer, which can be upgraded to a Blu-ray reader, a 720p high-definition webcam, a card reader, a gigabit Ethernet port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI 1.4 output, and a nine-cell battery.

Details on pricing for the MSI GT780DXR are yet to be confirmed but various online sources suggest the high-spec models are likely to cost upwards of £1500 when the laptop goes on sale in the UK next month.
