Accessory Review

Taking into account that the number of all-in-one printers is a market that is forever growing the sight of a stand alone scanner is becoming a rarity. Often, if this rare sight is witnessed, the scanner is of poor quality, quality which is truly not worth noting.

The Epson Perfection V300 Photo Scanner does live up to its name unlike most stand alone scanners that cannot perform high bit-depth scans and lack the means for canning transparency media, like slides or 35MM film, this scanner can do it all without a problem and best of all it is an inexpensive scanner.

The Epson Perfection V300 Photo Scanner is not just a photo scanner, it’s added flexability in the ability of a 180-degree lid for scanning oversized and 3D objects makes it a great tool for scrapbookers to create background pages, page accents and more. Furthermore, you can scan one 35mm film strip (up to six frames) or four 35mm slides with the included film holder to easily create enlargements.

The Epson Perfection V300 Photo Scanner connects to your laptop or PC through the USB 2.0 and has four shortcut buttons on the front of the unit for scanning to email, to PDF, to print or to save down as a file.

The Epson Perfection V300 Scan software makes everything very easy to use, offering numerous modes and a variety of settings so you can control how you can. The software even includes tools to automatically restore colour to faded photographs. The 48-bit test scans we ran, ran in less time than most all-in-one printers that incorporate 16-bit scans. Another benefit is that the Epson V300 doesn’t require much warm up which is nice and ensures you wont have to wait around for the unit to get ready to scan in that all important document.

The Epson Perfection V300 Photo Scanner, with its 4800 dpi scanning and transparency scan support, is a great choice for those looking to restore their snapshots, negatives and 35mm slides into the digital age.

Conclusion

Scan photos and 3D objects with amazing clarity and detail the value-priced Epson Perfection V300 Photo makes this a whole let easier. With a great 4800 dpi optical resolution and numerous features the V300 photo scanner can easily restore the colour in those old family snaps.
