iPad Tablet Alternatives

First launched by Apple in April 2010, there have been more than 250 million iPads sold as of October 2015. However, the tablet market is very lucrative and other companies are working to get in on the act and rock the gigantic Apple boat.

In order to try and stay ahead of the competition, Apple has released ten different iPad versions in total, as of October 2015.

Many companies are trying to bridge the gap however, generally offering tablets at lower prices than Apple’s iPads, which are generally quite expensive.

BlackBerry Playbook

The BlackBerry Playbook is a very user-friendly tablet. The BlackBerry Playbook is a rival to the iPad, but is also an attempt to imitate the success of the much loved Blackberry phones.

Dell Streak, Samsung Galaxy Tab

The HP Slate, Dell Streak and Samsung Galaxy Tab all feature expandable memory via a micro SD or SD card slot. They also incorporate a front facing and rear facing camera, and are strong competitors to Apple.
