Medion laptop born on cheapside

Medion’s reputation is definitely growing. Once known only for the desktop PCs it sold through Aldi, it’s now forging a name for solid products at budget prices. We recently featured their Sat Nav system for under £300 and now they’ve unveiled the MAM 2080 notebook, which retails for less than £400.

Students and those looking for a laptop for basic word processing and internet surfing might do well to check out Medion computer’s latest budget offering.

The new MAM 2080 is one of the first laptops to feature the new VIA C7-M processor. MAM 2080 features a 15″ TFT screen, dual layer DVD re-writer, integrated VIA PN800 64MB graphics, 40GB hard drive, 256MB DDR-RAM, 4 USB ports, LAN 10/100, 56K modem and weighs 2.4kg.

The machine comes bundled with Microsoft XP Home Edition, Medion’s Home Cinema Suite, NERO Burning ROM 6, NERO Recode 2-SE and eTrust AntiVirus with 90 days worth of free updates.

The MAM 2080 will be on sale in Woolworths from 10th April for £400
