Asus Fonepad release date and pricing revealed

The release date and pricing for the Asus Fonepad has been announced by the Taiwanese manufacturer.
Consumers will be able to pre-order the long-awaited tablet at the end of this week (April 12th) from stores like Carphone Warehouse, Sainsbury’s and Amazon, before stock arrives on the 26th.
The device, which is a smartphone-tablet hybrid, allows users to carry out similar tasks as high-end models like the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, but instead of setting people back several hundred pounds, it will only cost £179.99.
As for the Fonepad’s other specifications, it also comes with a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor, a seven-inch 1,280 by 800 display, 16GB of internal storage and it runs the Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 operating system.
In addition, it boasts a 1.2MP front camera, microSD and microSIM slots and a 4,270mAh battery that is capable of handling up to ten hours of high-definition video playback.
The device is comparable with Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, which also costs in the region of £179.99, has Wi-Fi capabilities and comes with 16GB of storage.
