HP Slate 7 tablet available in the UK

HP’s Slate 7 tablet is now on sale in the UK for £129 after being unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year.
The gadget – which comes with free delivery – runs on a Rockchip RK3066 system-on-chip clocked at 1.6GHz and has the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, IT Pro Portal reports.
It also boasts a seven-inch display, 1GB of random access memory, 8GB of onboard storage (plus a microSD card slot) and access to countless apps via Google Play.
Furthermore, the low-cost tablet is likely to go down well with bargain-hunting tech enthusiasts due to the fact it has a 13.4WHr battery, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a front-facing VGA camera and a rear three-megapixel one.
However, the news provider stated that while the Slate 7 is a decent device, the resolution of its screen lets it down, as it claimed 1,024 by 600 is not good enough for a tablet.
Despite this, users will benefit from a couple of free HP applications pre-installed on the model, such as Native Android Print and HP ePrint.
