The Asus X501A laptop is ideal for consumers on a tight budget as there are several devices to choose from and prices begin at just £299.
According to PC Advisor, the Celeron-based computer – which was released in late 2012 – is the ideal choice for people who do not have much cash to spare.
It boasts a dual-core B830 processor running at 1.8GHz and is backed up by 4GB of memory, while its hard drive is 750GB. However, the news provider said it is not quite as efficient as the more expensive Core i5 chips with Turbo Boost, something immediately noticeable when starting the machine up.
Although it is not suited to those after a gaming laptop, as it uses an older Intel HD integrated graphics processor, it is perfectly capable when it comes to web browsing or running Microsoft Office.
Build quality is also better than some tech fans might expect and while the 1,366 by 768 screen is not particularly bright, it is fine for streaming videos and given that it costs less than £300, it offers great value for money.
